About Louder Than Silence Reno
Louder Than Silence Reno is a youth-based mental health initiative designed to bring awareness, education, and empowerment to the Northern Nevada community. Our goal is to normalize discussion surrounding mental health and provide young people with resources and support to help them with any emotional challenges they may encounter. Our workshop is available in the workshop materials for anyone interested in holding these workshops in their own community.
About Daniel
Going into my senior year at Hug High School, I’m passionate about public health and community service. I’ve experienced some of the adverse effects of not prioritizing mental health, and I know people who have suffered worse, including a close friend who has taken their life. This has shown me the importance of mental health care, persuading me to take action and help lead initiatives to educate others. Volunteering at an assisted living home and Renown has shown me that mental health problems affect everyone. These workshops will allow me to show others the importance of mental health care and the resources available to them.
